Title
From materials to BMS, how to speed-up industrialization
Abstract
CSEM drives next generation battery materials and advanced BMS innovations from lab research to real world deployment. Our impact relies on close, applied research collaborations with industry partners, leading to technology transfer across the full value chain.
Bio
Located at CSEM’s Battery Innovation Hub in Neuchatel, Gaurav is building industry partnerships for technology transfer of CSEM’s next-generation battery materials and advanced battery management systems (BMS). This ranges from ultrathin Lithium metal anodes to non-flammable electrolytes on one hand, to highly precise BMS electronics and physics-inspired battery state algorithms on the other hand. Gaurav joined CSEM in 2025 after working for 5 years at Saint-Gobain in Paris, where he coordinated the corporation’s battery activities across the whole value-chain, ranging from electrolytes for solid-state batteries to thermal & mechanical components for battery packs. Before Saint-Gobain, Gaurav earned his award-winning PhD on high-energy battery cathode materials with Prof. J-M Tarascon in Paris. His passion for batteries initiated 12 years ago at UT Austin, USA – home of the Nobel prize on Li-ion batteries.
